The Charlotte Hosker Scholarship Trust was established in memory of Charlotte Hosker, who tragically passed away from meningitis at age 12. We honor her legacy by supporting young women pursuing careers in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics.
Remembering Charlotte Hosker and continuing her dreams through scholarships and support
Charlotte Hosker never had the opportunity to fulfill her ambitions in life. This Trust ensures that other young women, especially those from Purbeck School in Wareham, can pursue their dreams in STEM fields. We believe that by supporting education and removing financial barriers, we can help create the next generation of female scientists, engineers, mathematicians, and technology leaders.
Making a difference in young women's lives through education support
Comprehensive programs designed to remove barriers and foster excellence in STEM
We provide scholarships and maintenance allowances for students pursuing STEM degrees at universities, colleges, and institutions of higher education. Our bursaries help cover tuition, accommodation, and living expenses.
We help disadvantaged students maintain their sixth form studies by providing financial assistance for books, equipment, travel, and other educational expenses that might otherwise prevent continued education.
We fund and support extracurricular STEM education at Purbeck School, including workshops, lab equipment, science competitions, coding clubs, robotics programs, and hands-on learning experiences.
We provide funding for educational travel opportunities, including STEM conferences, university open days, industry visits, research trips, and international educational exchanges that broaden students' horizons.
We assist students in preparing for entry into STEM occupations, trades, and professions through mentorship programs, career counseling, internship support, and connections with industry professionals.
We help Purbeck School maintain a centre of excellence for STEM subjects by funding state-of-the-art equipment, specialist teachers, advanced courses, and innovative teaching methods.
